As the only one in this argument who actually acknowledges reality and insists on facts in both cases, I don’t view myself as partisan.
I would point out you have deviated from your usual and are now far to the pro-ayatollah side of the Russian line.
Russia sizes up Iranian protests
MOSCOW - Russia is carefully observing the mass unrest across Iran, taking a very cautious stance of not saying or doing…
Your embarrassingly unsubtle diatribe is a great example of what happens when certain cadres start spouting nonsense due to an incomplete or inadequate understanding of the line. Russian support for Tehran is more nuanced and balanced than your heavy handed view. Russia sees the Shia fundamentalists in Iran as useful in supporting Russian objectives in Syria and in frustrating the US generally. At the same time Russians recognize the legitimacy of the Iranian protests and view them as stemming from grievances about corruption and lack of economic opportunity. It does not deny the existence of the protests. You appear not to have caught that. Repeat : you are allowed to and encouraged to empathize with the Iranian people and the protestors while denouncing US intervention in what is an internal Iranian matter. Got it now?
