It argues effectively that once you accept a compromise on the Dreamers that you are now sufficiently softened up to accept Chain migration, Visa lotteries, Anchor babies, and more. You don’t call it open borders, but you want to turn every spigot on and won’t close a one. Why can’t we have the Wall, e- Verify, and crackdowns on sanctuary cities in return for a long term path for the Dreamers?
What has become clear is that some Dreamer advocates ultimately couldn’t care less about the Dreamers. They use them as political pawns to be sacrificed in a larger game.
