Congratulations! You wrote an essay that didn’t feature “collapse". Looks liked you decided to try “dying”. Well there are certainly cultures that are being pummelled by rapid change, unsupportable population growth, and incessant conflict that could be characterized as dying, though phrases such as chaotic fracturing might be more apt. But that certainly isn’t happening in most Western states. There is a struggle over how those nations will evolve. Whether multiculturalist internationalism will continue to falter under the weight of its own contradictions and be decimated by ascedant nationalistic populism is not clear. But in no event will those societies die. They are in the midst of rapid evolution as advances in medicine, electronics, communications, robotics, social media, housing, transportation, exploration, and warfare will change the way people live and interact. Just because the first world isn’t changing in the way you want it to doesn’t mean it will collapse or die. More likely we will see wealthy people who are half cyborg living to be 300 in gated nearly self sufficient communities serviced and protected by intelligent robots. In such a world, the Left Progressives won’t die, but they will become coopted or ultimately irrelevant, left behind by the future.
