I don't think so. China has zero experience in amphibious landings and no real seaborne anti-missile defense systems. Taiwan has more than enough missiles and air power to sink a large portion of any invasion fleet. Mines would blow up most of the rest. Any troops that did make a landing would be pinned down and destroyed by artillery. It is also not obvious they would triumph in land battles. China did not do well against Vietnam in the late 70s when it tried to invade. Finally, there is the US Fleet to worry about. An overt invasion will bring in the Americans and they do have a major qualitative advantage. No, military conflict is out. China believes it will become the dominant power over time. It would not want to force any kind of premature military confrontation that could derail its ascent.
