I think you were a lot closer, though still wrong, in calling it a beer-hall putsch than a coup. Look up the definition of a coup and you see it has none of the defining characteristics of a coup. It was not a cabal of military leaders marching troops to seize the TV stations or central organs of the government. https://link.medium.com/kfHm1MxCZcb
Why is it not a putsch? The reason is that Trump was not leading a charge to spark a mass revolt to overthrow the existing government. Trump was urging a demonstration in front of the Capitol. He did not urge or orchestrate any violent behavior. He said:
“I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard”
Adolf was shooting at Bavarian police. Trump shot at no one. Trump made a speech and went back into the White House. He was not around when a small fraction of the crowd pushed down barriers around the Capitol.
Whatever you call it, it’s not a coup.
