Lewandowski was not in contempt. He answered questions, but not in the way the Democrats wanted him to. They had no real idea why they wanted him to be there. It became pretty clear they had no strategy for how to question him and they made no compelling case why they had called him to testify in the first place. He was able to turn question after pointless question into an opportunity to demonstrate why they were fools pursuing a naked political agenda that had nothing to do with legislation or oversight. This was yet another attempt to play hardball and “go low". It only made them look immoral, inept, and impotent. Having him arrested would have only made them look even more unhinged, petty, and evil than they already looked. It’s pretty bad when Corey Lewandowski emerges unscathed and with the moral high ground.
