Most Americans are not feeling bad or sad. Some look hopefully to the future, while others are mad about likelihood of an election being stolen. Others are revving up for more political infighting. Most are worried about Covid and the growing number of cases in the latest wave, but there is a growing optimistism about the vaccines and theraputics that were developed under Operation Warp Speed and are now starting to come online. If you stop whining, we might send you some vaccines and ventilators. We might rip each other apart in a civil war, and we know more people will die of Covid, but overall hardly anyone feels bad. In fact, the realization that 2020 is coming to a close has a lot of people here strangely giddy with optimism.
