Or Hamas could have non-violent demonstrations with no attempts to tear down the border fence, no burning tires, no Molotov cocktails, and no shooting or rock throwing at Israeli soldiers. MSF is doing great humanitarian work which is not helped by naive one-sided statements. The Hamas strategy is to stage provocative attacks within mass demonstrations in order to produce “martyrs” and thereby gain propaganda victories. Hamas proudly proclaimed most of those killed were Hamas members.

Hamas also bears most of the responsibility for shortages and poor living conditions. Gaza has received a huge amount of foreign aid, but money meant to help the people is diverted into armaments, missiles, and terror tunnels and foreign bank accounts. Hamas took money given for it to pay for electricity but refused to pay the Palestinian Authority which then had Israel reduce the power supply.

Hamas-controlled rioters blew up fuel lines at the Kerem Shalom crossing.

Recently Hamas refused to accept boxes of medical supplies because they came from Israel.

None of this is to criticize the good work of MSF, but rather to remind the group its policy is to stay out of politics and simply focus on helping the sick and the injured.
