Pre-Covid Trump economics had led to the lowest rate of poverty ever, the lowest Black unemployment ever, and the lowest Hispanic unemployment ever. Median income rose $4,000 over three years versus $500 during Obama’s eight years. Real wages rose for the first time in two decades. Gas was cheap and jobs were plentiful. Better trade deals and tariffs were helping American workers and businesses. This is not to say everyone was driving around in Cadillacs, but things got a lot better for people, especially those in the lower economic rungs, under Trump.
