Shocking and completely bogus statistics they are. Please stop making up these ridiculous numbers. They are completely disconnected with reality and completely discredit everything you say as patent nonsense. So 80% live paycheck to paycheck you say, but those checks are pretty decent. Median household income is $60,000 a year and less than 12% fall below the poverty level and only 6% are half that. 64% own their own homes. You also forget the poor get food stamps, subsidized housing, and Medicaid. Further the trend is up. Things are much better now than they were a decade ago. Unemployment is at 3.9%, Black unemployment is the lowest it’s ever been. Employment is at an all-time high and GDP growth is at 4.1%. The economy is in a nice spot and lots of people are making lots of money. There are more open jobs than job seekers to fill them. Working people may not be getting a fair slice of the pie, but they are doing better and the pie is getting bigger. The standard of living is markedly improving. There are also increasing number of elderly living in gated communities and senior villages. They get social security checks each month but scarcely live month to month. Go drive through America — you can’t mistake it for the last days of Weimar Getmany.
