Support for impeachment is slipping in many swing states. The partisan way it has been done has united Republicans and left independents unconvinced. Forcing House Democrats from districts Trump won to vote for impeachment is looking more and more like a way to give the House back to the Republicans. There are at least two and more likely five Democrats in the Senate who will vote against removal. Meanwhile as this drags out and Democrat Presidential candidates are trapped in the Senate in the weeks leading up to Super Tuesday, a desperation to finish up with impeachment will grip half the Democrats. Even in the next few weeks, who but the most committed Blue loyalists will want to interrupt their holidays to listen to more of this drivel? No one outside the Resistance thinks he did anything seriously wrong, no matter how many times they repackage it in ever less convincing renditions.
