The law does not agree with you or maybe you didn’t see the videos. Mr. Rittenhouse was attacked as he lay on the ground. He had tripped while fleeing from a group of rioters who were pursuing him. A rioter used a skateboard to hit him on the head. Only after that did he discharge his weapon. Another rioter came at him openly brandishing a handgun. Did Kyle have a reasonable fear for his safety in those circumstances? Most anyone would agree that he did. That’s really all he needs to support a claim of self-defense. The video for the first shooting also shows the teen was being chased before discharge of his weapon. In all those cases, he is defending himself from their attacks. They could have let him go, stopped chasing him, not waved a gun at him. They were the aggressors. It’s for a jury to decide, but it looks like an open-shut case of self-defense.
