The majority of Americans below the age of 65 want a national single payor plan … right up until the moment they realize they would lose their existing employer provided insurance. After they then learn their taxes might easily double to pay for it, their support melts away. Seniors have Medicare and basically don’t want anybody tampering with it.
Bottom line: a large majority of people in the US have access to world-class Healthcare through employer-provided insurance or Medicare or the ACA. The main flaw of the ACA was the individual mandate and that is now gone. Trump is on record supporting a new plan for the uninsured and continuing with mandates to cover preexisting conditions. Electronic health marketplaces will continue to exist.
