There are no figures less sympathetic or less persuasive than NFL player protestors disrespecting the flag while their million dollar checks roll in. No matter what they say, these protestors know their acts of disrespect for the flag enrage many of the American pro football fans who pay to watch them and who make those million dollar checks possible.

Whatever point the player/protestors are trying to make is irrelevant because of the way they have chosen to make it. They made respect for the flag the central issue. Of course they are free under the First Amendment to sit or kneel or stand and say whatever they want, but if they want to keep their jobs, they should do it only after the game when not on the clock and not in uniform. If they want us to watch them play their game, they can damn well stop disrespecting the flag of our country.
