This incident should be investigated by the Israeli government as it would be a violation of the stated rules of engagement for the snipers, if the allegations are close to the actual facts. If the paramedic was in an area surrounded by smoke from burning tires and was close to fence and was a human shield for militants hurling explosives, then his shooting may have been intentional. Until an investigation is done, I would withhold judgement. In any event, the live fire is definitely not supposed to be indiscriminate. Still that doesn’t mean tragic mistakes don’t occur.
