What the chart in your piece really shows is that the Democrats Media allies have made a decision to attack Trump over his encouraging comments about hydroxychloroquine. As I wrote in my own Medium article, this is a really foolish decision. It is betting your house on unknown odds.
Democrats Make a Bad Bet Against HydroxyChloroquine
It is bad practice for a lawyer to ask a witness a question without already knowing the answer. It’s an even greater…
No one really knows if this drug will work against Covid-19. If it does, all these criticisms will be correctly seen as costing the lives of thousands who could have been saved.
Trump’s touting of the drug should be put in the context he puts it in of a person facing imminent death. Trump says “it may work or it may not” , but it may be worth trying if you have no other option. “What do you have to lose?”, he asks. When discussing the drug, Trump brings up the Right to Try Act he signed into law. For patients facing near certain death, the law allows patients to try a treatment even if it has not been fully tested. Why does this matter? I ask if you were stricken and about to be put on a ventilator, would you ask your doctor if it was worth trying hydroxychloroquine and zpac as a last try. I’ve asked a dozen people who denounce Trump for talking about this drug whether they would ask their doctor about it if they were seriously ill with Covid-19. They all admitted they would. None said they would go imbibe fish tank cleaner. Really the fish tank story is a red herring and in no way is Trump responsible for a complete misinterpretation of what he said.
