When President Eisenhower was facing a state that defied Federal authority, he took action. In 1957 Arkansas refused to follow a school integration order. President Eisenhower federalized the Arkansas National Guard and he sent in Federal troops to enforce the order.
That’s what we need now. Trump should send in a few companies of military police backed by a mechanized infantry battalion of Regular Army plus units of the Federalized California National Guard. He is Commander in Chief — no Ninth District Court judge can do anything to stop him. He should have them demand access to the Oakland jail and then go through and hand over all illegal alien prisoners to ICE for processing. They should surround all major courts and prisons in the state. They should set up checkpoints at the border. They should match IDs and identify illegal aliens on the voter rolls.
The people of Arkansas and Mississippi and other states found that they couldn’t defy Federal law. Now California officials should be taught the same lesson.
