You love to drop F-bombs and launch ad hominem and you have made a convincing case the Bolton was and is hopelessly wrong about Iraq, but you have not made any argument showing he is wrong about North Korea. I guess you expect us to assume North Korea is just like Iraq, only it isn’t:
1. With respect to Iraq, there were no WMD and no ICBMs. Hence no real threat. With respect to NK, we see a belligerent regime that definitely has the A- bomb and is making rapid progress on ICBMs.
2.Iraq under Saddam was a useful. counterweight to Iran: taking him out dramatically increased the danger from Iran. North Korea serves no such purpose.
3. Iraq is a somewhat artificial country with three major groups consigned by Western powers to a single national entity. Korea is one national entity split by Cold War tensions into two countries. North Korea has never stopped living in the Cold War.
Given these differences between Iraq in 2003 and North Korea in 2017, maybe preemptive regime change is the right move. Then again maybe it isn’t. You at least have to make a substantive argument and not just say STFU.
